A Delightful Tale from the Nilgiri Mountains - Balmaadi Coffee Estate

For the past two decades, this Indian coffee estate has passionately preserved the organic nature of coffee, captivating the hearts of coffee enthusiasts worldwide. When we asked our founder- Mithilesh Vazalwar, about what comes to his mind when he thinks about the Balmaadi Coffee Estate, here’s what he had to say-

“Balmadi Coffee Estate has been this mysterious Indian coffee which, for ages, was unknown to people. Now, gradually I see this beautiful Indian coffee explode in the Indian circuit as well as internationally, it’s time it finally gets its due attention.”

Balmaadi Organic Natural is here to do wonders in the Indian Coffee Industry.

Unnamalai Thiagarajan, Producer Balmaadi Coffee Estate

Meet Unnamalai Thiagarajan, the guardian of flavour at Balmaadi Coffee Estate. Unnamalai shares his insights into the art of coffee cultivation and the process of Balmaadi Organic Natural. He reveals that ripe coffee cherries are carefully handpicked and then laid out to dry in the yard of the Pulp House. Patiently waiting 10-15 days for the coffee to reach the perfect moisture percentage, these cherries are then stored in 50 kg jute gunnies after drying, Unnamalai's dedication to preserving the organic nature of coffee is evident in every step of this meticulous process.

Saravanamuthu, Core team member- Corridor Seven Coffee Roasters

Moving to the art of roasting coffee at Corridor Seven Coffee Roasters, where the magic of Balmaadi Coffee truly comes alive. Mutthu, a core team member and a true coffee artisan, takes pride in showcasing the unique flavours hidden within these exquisite beans. With the beans roasted to a filter roast profile, and a short post-first crack time spent in the roaster. This enabled us to bring out a complexity of acidity and yet a caramelised sugar note. This coffee has the flavour notes of red apple, a splash of orange, and a swirl of chocolate. Corridor Seven Coffee Roasters has been brewing this Indian coffee on its manual bar using v-60 Pourovers, Aeropress, and some cold brews as well.

Balmaadi Coffee Estate has left us spellbound, from the dedication of the producers to our roasters at Corridor Seven Coffee Roasters, this Indian coffee will offer you an experience like no other.

Balmaadi Coffee Estate is a testament to the timeless allure of organic coffee, reminding us of the profound connection between nature, culture, and the joy of a well-brewed cup of coffee.
